Introduction
In today’s tutorial, we are going to share how to create a blog on blogger platform. Even though there are many blogging platforms available, Google's Blogger and WordPress are by far the most popular platforms used by bloggers. If you're new to blogging, you can start with Blogger—because it's free and very easy to use.
Creating the Blog
Step 1:
Go to https://www.blogger.com and you will be taken to a page similar to the one in the picture below.
Step 2:
If you already have an account with Google (such as a Gmail account), enter your email and password in the fields provided and then click the “Sign in” button on the page.
If you do not have a Google account, click on the “Create an account” button. You will be taken to a page where you will create a Google account which you will use for your blog and other Google services. Fill in the form accordingly.
Step 3:
If you Signed into or created your Google account successfully, you will be taken into the Blogger Website then Click on the “New Blog” button as seen in the picture below.
Step 4:
After clicking “New Blog” button you will be taken to a page where you will enter a Title, Address and choose a Template for your blog as shown in the picture below. Then click the Create blog! Button.
Setting Up the Blog Settings
Basic Settings
Once logged into your dashboard.
Click on Settings, then click on Basic as seen in the picture below:
On the page, a list of settings that you can edit will be shown to you. You can edit them by clicking the "Edit" link next to each setting.
Editing the Blog Description
You can edit the blog description by clicking the "Edit" link next to the description setting. Enter a description that describes your blog in the description box. Whatever you type in the description box appears beneath your blog title in the blog header area. You can disable it though.
You have to take your time to write a useful description that not only describe what your blog is about but also make visitors to read more and come back another time for more.
Editing the Blog Privacy
If you click on the privacy edit link, you will see two settings you can configure.
Select "YES" for "Add your blog to our listings" and also select "YES" for "Let search engines find your blog".
Leave the "Publishing" and "Permissions" settings as they are and make sure you set the "Blog Readers" to "Anybody".
Posts and Comments Settings
Click on Settings
Then click on Posts and Comments as seen in the picture below:
Here, you will see two sub-headings: Posts and Comments. The small question mark next to each setting gives a brief description of each setting. Under the "Posts” sub-heading, the main setting that will need altering is the “Show at most”
(that is how many you will show on the home page). Set it to “5 posts” on the home page. Feel free to alter it the way you like. Mind you, the more posts that you want to show on your home page, the more it takes your blog to load.

Under the "Comments" sub-heading, you can set the settings according to your choice. The picture below shows how to set this sub-heading:
- Set "Comment Location" as "embedded" so that the blogger comment form can appear right below each of your posts and it will allow users to reply from the post without taking them away to a new page.
- Set "who can comment" to "anyone" so as to enable anonymous users to comment on your blog posts.
- Set "comment moderation" to "Never" that will help in giving freedom to your blog readers to always say their mind.
- Anything you enter in the "comment form message" appears directly above your comment form. You can use this to let your readers know that their comments will be appreciated.
Search Preferences
In this section of the setting we will only edit the “Description”

Put in the description of your blog that tells people what the blog is all about. This description is what will appear below your blog name.
Publishing your First Article
To start a post click on Post tab on you blogger Dashboard and then click on New post icon as seen in picture below;
After clicking on New post you will arrive at a page as you can see in the below picture;
There you will choose any of the Publish, Save, Preview or Close options at the top. There are additional options for Labels, Schedule, Location, Enclosure Links and Options you can use located at the sidebar. Choose either Compose or HTML view to create your post.

Labels are a ways to easily categorize your posts. When you're writing a post, click Labels on the side and enter the labels you like, separating them with commas. Labels you've used before will show up below, and you can just click them to add them to the post. When you publish your post, the labels will be listed with it. Clicking any of the labels will take you to a page containing only posts with that label.
Schedule is where you can set your post to be published on a future date and time.
If you select “Set date and time” below, you can choose a date and time on a calendar for your post to be automatically published.
Once you've selected a new date and time, be sure to click Done, then Publish. Don't worry-- your post will only publish at the date and time that you've determined in the settings.
Still under “Post Settings”, you can ignore the “Location” while you can enable and disable comments via “Options”.

Adding Image to Your Blog Post
To add image, click on the image icon as seen in the picture below:
There are different options of adding image to your post. Click the "Choose Files" button to select pictures from your computer. Then, click "Add Selected". You can also select from many of the options available there
Adding Video to Your Blog Post
There are different options of adding image to your post. You can upload a video directly from your computer, from YouTube, from your own YouTube videos and so on. To add video from YouTube, Click on the Insert Video icon, and browse for a YouTube video. Or copy the Embed code of the video and paste into HTML view. See picture below for more

Save, Preview & Publish
Preview Post
Click the Preview button to preview your blog post and see it will look like.
Save Post
Click the Save button. This saves the post as a Draft. This post won't show up on your blog, but you can access it from your Dashboard if you'd like to edit and later publish it.
Publish Post & Close
Once you are happy with your post, Click the Publish button, and then Close the editor.
